Diego Alonso has revealed he is optimistic about Uruguay’s future at the Qatar World Cup starting later this month. Uruguay coach Diego Alonso has revealed. He is optimistic about his football team’s future at the 2022 World Cup which is about to start soon. They start their tournament against South Korea on November 24 before facing Portugal and Ghana respectively. Marca reported on Saturday. 

‘We feel very confident with the players we have. because of their quality and above all Their enthusiasm for the national team.’ said Alonso.

The 47-year-old also mentioned 25-year-old midfielder Federico Valverde, who is playing brilliantly for Real Madrid after scoring eight goals in all competitions this season for the team UFABET 

‘He’s been in great form.’ said the former Atletico Madrid and Valencia striker of Valverde. ‘He’s very consistent and that makes us happy.’

‘He’s a complete player. He played in midfield and wing for Real Madrid and [Real Madrid B] Castilla, showing that he can do anything.’

Alonso also spoke about Luis Suarez being part of Nacional’s Uruguayan league-winning squad in October. The former Liverpool, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid forward has scored six goals in 13 appearances since returning to his boyhood club in August. 

‘We watched closely and noticed he was stronger and fresher.’ said Alonso. ‘In important games, he always made an impact.’
